2. CHAAP TILAK BY ABIDA PARVEEN – RAHAT FATEH ALI KHAN

A beautiful rendition of Amir Khusro’s poetry, Chaap Tilak marked the highlight for Coke Studio season 7. The soulful amalgamation of two legendary voices was bound to result in magic and Chaap Tilak rose to every expectation.

3. DASHT-E-TANHAI BY MEESHA SHAFI

Dasht-e-Tanhai,  a heart-wrenching Urdu poetry, written by the Faiz Ahmed Faiz got its due credit in Meesha Shafi’s profound version in Coke Studio season 5.

4. TUM NARAZ HO BY SAJJAD ALI

A regular at Coke Studio, Sajjad Ali did a phenomenal job with this soulful number that made it to every music aficionados’ playlist.

5. NINDYA KE PAAR BY UZAIR JASWAL

A  recent sensation across border, Uzair Jaswal’s reason to fame was his heartfelt romantic track, Nindiya Ke Paar from Coke Studio’s season 5. The song was later adapted in Bollywood movie, Leela only to rule the charts for a long time.

6. BEWAJAH BY NABEEL SHAUKAT

Another winner from Coke Studio’s  first episode of season 8, Bewajah by Nabeel Shaukat, with its stirring lyrics and composition strikes the cord with every soul in love.

 7. CHANNA BY ATIF ASLAM

‘Channa’ which means ‘Darling’, is a song that sees a progression of deep, almost heart tugging waves stringed by the Orchestra in Serbia that finds its calm in the ever present pulse that takes the song to its climactic transition into the world of disco funk. Conceptualized by Atif himself, the song is a declaration of love that every person in love just cant miss.

8. KOI LABDA BY SANAM MARVI

An excellent representation of worldly reality, Koi Labda by Sanam Marvi is one of the first songs on Coke Studio that features a non-linear approach to recording. Sanam Marvi was recorded at a later date and her inclusion was decided after the main performance sessions.

9. DAANAH PE DAANAH BY AKHTER CHANAL ZAHRI & KOMAL RIZVI

Our best selection would be incomplete without Komal Rizvi’s peppy version of Sindhi folk classic,  Daanah Pe Dannah.
